Section 125 Plans

The IRS provided a tax savings opportunity through section 125 of the IRS Code. We provide two popular components of Section 125 for employers of small to large companies across the country.

Premium Only Plans ("POP")

A POP plan allows the employee contribution of qualified insurance premiums to be deducted from the employee's gross wages before taxes are calculated. The most common types of premiums are Medical, Dental and Vision. By paying the employee contribution with pre-tax dollars, the employee's tax base is lowered reducing federal, social security, and state income taxes in most jurisdictions. This puts more money in your employees pockets and reduces your employer liability.

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

Employees can elect to have deductions from their paycheck on a pre-tax basis deposited into a Health Care FSA and/or a Dependent Care FSA. Similar to the POP plan, these deductions reduce the employee's taxable income base resulting in lower taxes for you and your employees, and in most cases more spendable income for your employees. Participation in FSA allows the employee to be reimbursed for out-of-pocket health expenses with pre-tax dollars and/or pay for qualified dependant care expenses with pre-tax dollars.
